Apparently my TV and/or Windows don't like that. The option to enable should be under the 'windows hd color' settings of the display settings page however the sliders are not present to enable hdr and all hdr capabilities are set as 'No'. I managed to find the problem: my buddies (using my apartment as gaming cave in my absence) changed some cables, and they used a Display Port to HDMI cable from my PC to TV. HDR WCG is an available option to turn on (SDR slider is greyed out for some reason) - once turned on, Windows 10 asks 'Do you want to keep these settings' Choose Yes, but HDR WCG remains off. I reinstalled the graphics drivers, restarted the PC, but nothing's helped. When I activate 'enhanced format', which enables HDR, then the screen turns black again. Now, when I enable the 'standard format' in my TV settings, which basically turns of the HDR feature of my TV, then it shows a picture on my Windows PC, but then there is no HDR. When I touch Windows' HDR settings it always returns to 'off'. My TV only shows a black screen or 'no signal'. Either way the game says HDR is not detected despite the different appearances. WINDOWS 10 WONT TURN ON HDR UPDATEHowever, I wasn't at home for many months and just returned, booted my PC, which then did an update and I rebooted again. Setting NVIDIA control panel to 'use Nvidia color settings' (in Resolution only appears when Windows is in HDR mode) fixes the dullness on the desktop, however the games color becomes overly bright and strange unless you turn off HDR detection in the game.
